So much goes into a senior portrait session. The location, wardrobe, and styling is so important to creating your amazing look for the big day! I’m breaking down my favorite beauty products that will insure you look and feel your best!

Hair

Hair products will vary for your style and type of hair. I always encourage my seniors to work WITH instead of AGAINST their natural hair type. Virginia weather isn’t kind to our locks, but there are some beauty favorites that perform well for portrait sessions.

To prevent flyaways or frizz, I LOVE Verb Ghost Oil. You really only need a tiny amount of this product!

Bed Head Masterpiece Hairspray is my go-to for a super strong hold. If you’re curling your hair, I recommend spraying before you curl and after to set your style!

Skin

Prepping your skin is super important. Many of my seniors have either oily or dry patches from breakouts. Regardless of skin type, moisturizing, and drinking lots of water in the weeks leading up to your session is imperative. I highly recommend Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer and gentle exfoliation 24-48 hours prior to your session for even makeup application and to buff away dry patches. As always, test products on another area of your skin before use.

Makeup

Makeup preferences, skin tones, and styles vary for each of my clients. However, a polished and put together look works best with my style of portraits. I adore the following tried and true products that look amazing on every skin tone!
