A senior representative program is a marketing tool often used by photographers who specialize in senior portraits. These programs CAN be successful if there’s a greater purpose than to gain referrals. I started with a “senior model” program 6 years ago. This program has grown exponentially over the years and it definitely wasn’t a result of “models” handing out business cards. I quickly learned my clients were not models, but rather real high school girls. So after the first year, I stripped the word “model” from my program, took away referral requirements, and built on investing my heart into my seniors. In other words, I went a little rogue and decided to do things my way. 🙂 I offered seniors experiences to gain confidence, foster friendships, and provide amazing individual portrait sessions.  What resulted was a beautiful transformation in my business and the senior portrait experience for my clients.

Since the beginning, my VIPteam has provided almost 100 deserving high school seniors with photo sessions throughout the year, discounted or free photo products, community service experiences, and friendships with other area seniors. Tangible services and products now total over $120,000! These talented seniors are volunteers, athletes, scholars, activists, and really good-hearted high schoolers. They are more than “Very Important People.” They are Vibrant, Inspirational, and Passionate young adults. From a sentimental photographer’s standpoint, it’s a joy to watch them transform over the course of their last year in high school. And it’s great others have learned about my business who possess the same qualities as my VIPteam members!

The incoming Class of 2020 will coincide with the beginning of my 10th year in business, which is such a big milestone for me!
