Kayla is a senior at Glen Allen High School and is such a special, multi-talented young lady. Kayla is very active in and out of school and her list of amazing qualities goes on and on… In school, Kayla is part of many clubs including Battle of the Classes, Spanish Club, Key Club and a library aide. She’s also Head Baker for the Glen Allen High School Competition Cupcake Team.

Outside of school, Kayla has her own baking business, Kayla Bakes. She has been baking for parties, graduations, and even weddings! She recently made cupcakes for a celebration I held when our son was awarded his 2nd degree blackbelt. Not only were they adorable, they were absolutely delicious! Kayla is also an amazing dancer and currently takes ballet, modern, pointe, and jazz. At her studio, she is part of the Advanced Dancer’s Program and assists with classes for the younger dancers. She also babysits for a number of families who have come to adore her. (Keep scrolling to the end to see how her parents surprised her!)

Kayla spends a lot of time volunteering and sharing her talents with those who are in need. She volunteers as coach for The Squirrelettes, the dance team for the Richmond Flying Squirrels. She’s also volunteered in classrooms at local elementary schools for Junior Achievement and worked with organizations such as Stop Hunger Now and CARITAS. She’s also on the Youth Council at her church and part of the Children’s Ministry Team.

After high school, Kayla plans to attend a university and become an elementary school teacher. Lucky for us, she also wants to continue with her baking business!

After portraits at the University of Richmond, Kayla’s parents put together a huge surprise! Over twenty of the children Kayla babysits came to greet her for a few more portraits at my home studio. Just look at all these smiling faces. Kayla, you are so loved!
