Gracie is a senior at Deep Run High School and is just as lovely on the inside as she is in these photos. Gracie is a giving person and many of her activities in and out of school are volunteer based. At school, she is a member of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) organization, helps raise funds for Deep Run Marathon Dance, and is on the spring track team. Outside of school, Gracie teaches Sunday School to 2nd and 3rd graders, coaches cheerleading at Kanawha Youth Association, and lifeguards during the summers. This past summer, she had the opportunity to travel to the Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic. There she helped conduct a weeklong vacation bible school sports camp for children. Here is what she had to say about her experience:

“The language barrier and the extreme humidity with limited air conditioning while having to wear long and heavy skirts made it an overwhelming and hard experience; but, I wouldn’t have wanted to change anything. It taught me how to persevere even when I feel like quitting and it for sure pushed me out of my comfort zone. Getting to watch the children’s faces light up every morning was so surreal to see how excited they were over the smallest things when they have little to nothing.”

Gracie plans to attend a four-year college after graduation and has interests in psychology and working with children. Gracie, you are an amazing young woman and I’m so glad you chose me as your senior photographer!
