Last spring we made our first RV purchase. It was a Keystone Springdale Mini and we thought it would meet our needs while we figured out if the whole “camping” gig was for us. I hadn’t camped in probably 15+ years and I wasn’t sure if I would truly enjoy it. But, we like to travel with our dogs and thought having our own little “house on wheels” was a great way to do it. Both of my parents have RVs and we love theirs! Our first trailer had all we thought we would need, a comfy bed, bunks, bathroom, and kitchen. We took it out for three trips last summer and although we loved camping life, we started having problem after problem. The air conditioner started leaking to the point we had mold, the pilot light on our hot water heater wouldn’t stay on, the shower leaked, I could keep going…

After several months of our brand new trailer sitting at the service department, I finally contacted the company with a strong letter airing our grievances about our practically brand new trailer. Luckily, the president of the dealership agreed and credited us 100% of our initial purchase price towards the same model or we could choose a different model or upgrade! I was so glad I took a firm stance and asked for our situation to be rightly rectified. We made the smart decision to trade up to a larger model with plenty of room for our dogs, friends, and family! Things certainly happen for a reason and we are so happy with our new home away from home!
Here’s some photos of our new digs, a Keystone Passport Grand Touring Edition. We’re taking it out for the first time this weekend…all the way to DISNEY!
Pillow from Target. Magnetic spice containers from Amazon.
The kitchen backsplash was a two day project from adhesive tiles to caulking. I won’t say it was easy, but wasn’t terrible once I figured out how to work with the sticky things! We used these tiles from Amazon.
DIY Wall Art hung with Command strips. See below!
Camper’s Journal from Amazon. DIY wall art.
Noah’s been packed and ready for two weeks!
I created DIY wall art with twig frames to give our trailer a bit of a rustic feel. Want to print your own? Click on the image below and hang in your camping space!
See ya on the road!
